On this trip we traveled to Pleasanton, CA for my cousin Brett's wedding. It was at the Wente vineyards.
When I was working for Great Lakes Airlines, I had flight benefits. This was one of the times that I took advantage of them. I was however very tired on a lot of this trip. I worked all night, and then hopped on a plane in the morning. I then stayed up until about 9 PM. That put me at almost 30 hours without sleep. I kind of got past the tired stage, and into the zombie stage toward the end of the day.
San Antonio is a beautiful city with a lot of history. We saw some very old buildings that had very unique architecture. I was very surprised to learn that the Alamo is in downtown. I had always pictured it as being out in the country. I believe that my favorite part of the city was the river walk area. This is a path in downtown that follows a river. Along this path are all kinds of really neat bridges, plants, and restaurants complete with live music. There is also a little river boat tour that we took. It can get very hot and humid down there in the summer, but it was a fun trip. We arrived there just after a thunderstorm, and it was extremely humid with a temperature of about 100 degrees. It was funny thinking that just a few hours ago I was up in Cheyenne doing a compass swing on an aircraft outside in a 40 MPH wind with a temperature in the 20's.
I was sent out by my employer to Shreveport, Louisiana to do some contract work for Center Point Energy. Here are some pictures from my trip.
After graduating from college, my dad and I took a trip to Sydney, Australia. I have an uncle and cousins living there, and it was fun getting to see the sights and visit with them.
